What Becomes Possible When We Meet

I’ve been noticing something lately.

The deeper I meet myself,

the more life seems to open.

Not because I know more about where I’m going.

Because I listen.

I feel what is a yes.

What is a no.

I let myself choose from there.

And then I notice things I couldn’t have planned.

People.

Ideas.

Possibilities.

Little signs. Sometimes big ones.

More of me seems to inhabit the space in my life.

And I’m beginning to see something else too.

How much I love what happens when we meet.

When we allow whatever wants to arise between us.

Something that neither of us could have created alone.

A thought.

A feeling.

A possibility.

Something that begins to move.

I love how something starts to be created and what life does with it.

I think I’m beginning to understand why the word together feels so alive to me.

We don’t have to know what we are going to create.

We can be here. And see what becomes possible.

A while back, a woman came to me for a session.¹

We couldn’t have known what would come.

I simply followed what was present in the meeting.

And she came home.

She remembered.

She told me about meeting beings she knew by name, and how it felt like being with old friends.

She experienced a love so strong washing through her.

And some time afterwards, she wrote to tell me that something in her relationship with her daughter had deepened. And her daughter felt it too and was so happy about this.

I love moments like this.

Because we don’t always know what our heart desires.

And we certainly don’t always know what will come alive when we give ourselves space to meet what is here.

Sometimes we just have to become aware of what is here.

And then…

see what life does with it.

Who knows what might become possible?
