Sometimes I notice that I try to hold myself together.
Almost as if I am trying to hold my body up – as though it cannot do it itself.
And the body listens to what I tell it.
It tries to steer, control or hold together something that is actually longing to be expressed.
When that happens, I need to remind myself that if what is within me is to be able to flow through the body’s systems, I need to soften.
To breathe gently and with presence.
When I do, the energy can begin to move again.
As sensations, emotions or thoughts.
For me, the need for this presence feels particularly strong in the skeleton,
the spine and the connective tissue.
When my attention is allowed to rest there, it feels as though something can slowly awaken.
Not through effort – but through allowing.
This is also where I can sometimes feel the interplay between different forces within me.
The feminine movement that wants to flow.
And the masculine presence that holds and supports.
When they are allowed to exist together, in balance, something happens in the body.
The nervous system settles.
And the more I allow, the more a quiet sense of coming home to myself begins to emerge.
Of my whole self having room within me.
A feeling of sovereignty.
I don’t need to do more to feel this way.
But I can choose to listen more deeply
and meet whatever arises unconditionally.
In this way, I can allow what is true –
what the body is expressing right now – to lead.
And when I do, the stream of life can begin to move again.
The flow can be felt and slowly awaken the whole body to life.
A big hug,
Annika
